Anticipated Length of Assignment 12 months. Job Summary Career Discovery and Success is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented API Integration Developer to support development of robust API connections between Salesforce and Handshake. This role is critical to ensuring seamless data flow and operational efficiency across our platforms, supporting our Career Services Technology & Insight initiatives and the University strategic plan. This is a temporary position that is open until the conclusion of the Phase 1 API development. Responsibilities
Design and implement secure, scalable, and efficient RESTful APIs to integrate Microsoft Azure, Salesforce, and Handshake platforms. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather integration requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Maintain and enhance existing API connections, ensuring high availability and performance. Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, including data mismatches, authentication errors, and performance bottlenecks. Document API architecture, endpoints, and workflows for internal use and future scalability. Ensure compliance with data security and privacy standards across all integrations. Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices. About TES
Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Essential Functions Design and implement secure, scalable, and efficient RESTful APIs to integrate Microsoft Azure, Salesforce, and Handshake platforms. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather integration requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Maintain and enhance existing API connections, ensuring high availability and performance. Bachelor’s Degree in discipline as appropriate to position and at least one year experience. Desired Qualifications
Proven experience developing APIs using technologies such as .NET, Node.js, or Python. Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure services (e.g., Azure Functions, Logic Apps, API Management). Hands-on experience with Salesforce APIs (REST, SOAP, Bulk API) and integration patterns. Familiarity with Handshake’s EDU API and data structures. Proficiency in working with JSON, XML, OAuth 2.0, and webhooks. Posting Details
Salary Range $15.00-$23.00/hour Work Hours Typical work hours between 7:45 am and 4:45 pm. During Career Fair Season some nights and weekends may be required.
