The Impact You Will Have Reporting to the US Head of Construction Property/NA Practice Group Leader Construction, this position will underwrite profitable new and renewal business to meet the Construction line of business targets regionally including global elements. Responsibilities include ownership of large accounts/clients, negotiation of participation, pricing and terms and conditions; training and development of the team; and development of strong relationships with brokers and clients. You will provide specialized technical expertise and act as lead for at least one sub-LoB. Some of your specific responsibilities could include: Underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom-line targets. Negotiate price and terms with producers. Proactively manage capacity. Underwrite and evaluate Natural Catastrophe Accumulation, ensuring understanding of catastrophe modeling and interpretation of scenarios (for relevant LoBs). Underwrite International Insurance Programs (for relevant LoBs). Underwrite in line with LoB governance framework (e.g., Underwriting Authorities, global MSU, Underwriting Guidelines, Rules and Principles). Ensure contract certainty at inception. Utilize global pricing tools. Place and bind FAC Reinsurance prior to policy inception. Ensure accurate policy documentation issued to producers or verify producer-issued documentation. File maintenance for each risk and transaction. Support policy administration and credit control processes. Contribute to development and execution of regional Underwriting strategy for LoB regionally. Train, develop and coach less experienced staff. Manage complex referrals and re-underwrite complex business as appropriate. Delegate work as needed. Support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business. Liaise with MMC on market management initiatives. Represent AzC externally to the market and foster cross-functional collaboration among MMC, ARC, Claims, Operations. Build relationships with key producers, clients and risk managers. What Youll Bring to the Role A minimum 5-7 years significant experience in underwriting profitable Energy and Construction business with specialized understanding of sub-LoB products and portfolio. Strong relationships with brokers at peer group level and established within the market. Knowledge of regional/local LoB insurance markets and regulatory framework. Experience in a complex global matrix organization. Bachelors degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Law or related discipline; professional insurance qualification preferred. Ability to assess risk exposures and natural hazards relevant to LoB; analyze performance against benchmarks and customer needs. Design and implement robust policy wordings. Understanding of policy administration life cycle, including information collection, issuance, premium bookings, credit control and cancellation. Clear written and verbal communication; ability to present persuasively and influence others. Ability to lead and manage a team of underwriters and delegate tasks. Proficiency with AI tools to support day-to-day tasks, improve efficiency, and contribute to data-driven decision-making. Willingness to learn and explore AI applications for the role and organization. Compensation and Benefits The annualized base pay range for this role is $102,556 - $222,776. The base pay represents a nationwide market range and actual salary may be higher based on scope, location, and the candidates skills, education, training, credentials, and experience. Base pay is one component of the AzC total compensation package, with additional benefits including annual performance-based cash incentives. Whats in it for you?
