is searching for a Software Development Lead for the Missile Defense Agency Information Management and Software Services (AIMSS) effort. The mission is to support MDA Directorate of Test (DT) across testing activities including planning, logistics, analysis, and data management. The Software Lead will lead team initiatives across multiple software applications to deliver, maintain, and modernize legacy applications, migrating to a hybrid cloud environment. A successful candidate will promote cross-functional, integrated development teams focused on delivering regular value to the customer. They will remove blockers and unnecessary dependencies to accelerate development and delivery of valuable software for MDA in support of its data management mission. Responsibilities Work closely with customer leadership and PM to align team goals and solution goals Ensure the SDLC supports solid software engineering practices including continuous discovery, integration, and development Onboard and mentor team members including development and QA/test resources Develop and define requirements and user stories with customers and stakeholders Lead User Story Mapping sessions with Product Owners and stakeholders Develop wireframes for prototypes of new functionality Develop project roadmaps and brief leadership and stakeholders on project status Support example mapping sessions to define acceptance criteria and test criteria for features Review code and architecture and provide feedback to development teams Understand and provide leadership to GitLab pipelines to automate build, deployment, and CI processes Review and write clean, efficient, and well-documented code to maintain high standards of quality, performance, and security Collaborate with QA engineers to ensure delivery of high-quality, bug-free software Stay up to date with GitLab, Azure, Docker, and .NET Core trends and identify valuable solution technologies Ensure compliance with MDA Software Assurance policies and agile methodologies Maintain and evolve development methodologies toward BDD, TDD, DevSecOps, Agile, CI/CD, continuous discovery, and continuous deployment Review and maintain AIMSS software user and training documentation Participate in sprint reviews and system demos across the directorate Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience
Bachelors degree and a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience Knowledge of the software development lifecycle; experience in requirements, analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of enterprise-scale apps Experience working on a variety of software development projects Experience with Azure, AWS, and GitLab pipelines Understanding of how to implement solutions with multiple data sources Experience using C#, React, JavaScript, jQuery, Web Services, APIs, HTML, and CSS Active Secret clearance required. Must be able to maintain the security clearance required for this position Must reside within a 50-mile radius of Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville AL or be willing to relocate prior to start date Ability to reliably commute to the office as business needs dictate U.S. Citizenship is required
