School Bus Driver

Driving for FCPS is a fantastic second or even third career and a great move for over the road driver that want to be home. Essential Functions: Drive children safely to and from the various schools on regular routes and school-sponsored field trips. Follows the route description as it is written. Maintains the discipline of the students. Submits required forms by due date. Use and maintain FCPS email account. Sees that the bus is kept clean, in good mechanical condition, and sees that preventive maintenance is performed. Attends all in-service training meetings as required. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent Ability to read and write as demonstrated by successfully passing FCPS pre-service instructional training course as required pursuant to COMAR. No more than two (2) current points on driving record and a satisfactory past driving record, as determined by the Director of Transportation. At least 21 years of age. Five (5) years of driving experience, during which time you held a valid driver's license. Meet all Motor Vehicle Licensing requirements for a commercial driver's license (CDL) with a passenger endorsement. Satisfactorily pass the appropriate medical examination for school vehicle drivers as stated in COMAR. Receive a negative controlled substance test as required under COMAR. Satisfactorily pass the appropriate medical examinations for school vehicle drivers prior to each anniversary date. Maintain a driving record in accordance with COMAR. Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. Capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
