RAYUS Radiology is looking for a PET/CT Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Positron Emission Tomography--Computed Tomography (PET/CT) Technologist, you will operate your assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. You will provide patient-centered PET/CT services within professional standards and with excellent customer service. You will guide patients through this sometimes difficult process by kindly talking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and processes. This is a full-time position working shifts during the day throughout the week. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Patient PET/CT Imaging (90%) Screens patients before exam for precautions or contradictions, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure Explains and prepares patients for PET/CT imaging procedures, including positioning Performs routine and advanced PET/CT imaging procedures with minimal supervision, providing support by talking to patients throughout Adjusts scan parameters correctly, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate Maintains positive relationships with radiologists, referring providers, and colleagues Follows physicians' orders and safety regulations to protect everyone Accurately maintains patient records within RIS Maintains a clean and organized work area, promoting safety Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation standards Ensures equipment is in good working order, disinfected after use Complies with HIPAA guidelines Prepares, records, and administers radiopharmaceuticals per regulations and policies Administers FDG via IV to patients Demonstrates safety-aware behaviors for a safe work environment Reports contamination to Radiation Safety Officer PET/CT Department Support (5%) Maintains imaging protocol manuals and software Monitors and requests supplies as needed Assists in training new staff, providing technical support Performs quality control procedures on equipment Conducts radiation compliance surveys Other Tasks (5%) Performs additional duties as assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
NMTCB or ARRT registered technologist in Nuclear Medicine, current and in good standing Graduate of AMA-approved radiography program State radiological license, if applicable Current CPR certification Experience performing PET/CT independently Certification in imaging specialty PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
