Cardiac Cath Tech ERT (5) MHO role at Beacon Health System. Operates the Archive Manager and transfers digital images properly. Uses quantitative analysis on Philips equipment and correctly sets up Phillips X-Ray equipment for Cardiac Cath procedures. Operates and documents use of the med-rad injector (setup, flow rates, rise settings). Handles various equipment (Ultrasound, Rotoblator, Angiojet, Pressure Wire) and transfers angiographic cases accurately. Documents all cardiovascular procedures and patient assessments; records physiologic data (LHC, R/LHC, Swan insertion, temporary pacemaker, EP, PTCA). Interprets basic cardiac dysrhythmias and troubleshoots physiological monitoring systems as needed. Obtains accurate patient information (labs, H&P, consents) and follows emergent procedures as required. Performs blood glucose monitoring during cardiac procedures using the cath lab glucometer. Quality Assurance Education and Training

Checks image transfer to digital storage daily; troubleshoots Philips X-ray/digital storage error messages. Coordinates with Philips service for problems and maintenance; maintains radiation protection equipment and film badges. Maintains cardiovascular certifications (e.g., CCT, RCIS), ACLS, BLS; participates in ongoing education and training for staff and maintains state/national registrations. Attends unit meetings and shares information; ensures compliance with organizational policies and education requirements. Patient Preparation

Prepares patients for cardiovascular procedures with aseptic technique, including shaving, prepping the site, and draping. Hooks up patients to monitoring systems (SAT, NIBP) and educates patients as required. Maintains knowledge of Cath Lab supplies and inventory; assists with room turnover and inventory processes. Scrub Role

Maintains sterile technique and proper handling of sterile supplies and equipment. Performs surgical scrubs for cardiovascular procedures and prepares trays for LHC, R/LHC, Swan-Ganz, A-line, Temporary Pacemaker, PTCA. Handles contrast injection techniques, catheters, wires, and sheaths with proper precautions; connects A-lines to pressure monitoring systems and manages removal as needed. Supports EP cases, IVUS, Rotablator; prepares and handles equipment for PTCA. Organizational Responsibilities

Attends department meetings and completes mandatory education, annual competencies, and health requirements within set timeframes. Maintains license/certification in good standing; keeps BCLS/CPR and other required certifications current. Adheres to universal precautions and regulatory requirements; able to work overtime or additional shifts as required. Beacons Six-Point Operating System (The Beacon Way)

Associate degree or professional training; ARRT certification and ISBH General Certification required; Interventional Registry required. One to two years of Special Procedures Radiographer experience preferred; two to five years as Staff Radiographer preferred. Knowledge & Skills

Position patients; practice aseptic techniques; knowledge of interventional items, catheters, contrast media; operate standard radiographic and special procedure equipment; knowledge of Radiology Computer System. Working Conditions

Hospital patient care environment; participate in department call rotation; able to report within 30 minutes when on call. Physical Demands
