South Shore YMCA . The 7D Van Driver is responsible for pupil transportation needs of a high-quality Afterschool program, promoting YMCA core values and encouraging lifelong learning. The role involves effective communication with staff and outside entities, and providing high-quality member service to participants and families. Reports to:
Director, Afterschool Programs Core Expectations
Program Management:
Manage 7D vehicle, ensure compliance with DOT regulations, EEC licensing, and ADA accommodations. Conduct routine vehicle upkeep, communicate with staff, and ensure safety and timeliness of transportation. Staff Engagement & Development:
Supervise program participants per policies and regulations, monitor vehicle requirements. Membership Engagement & Development:
Build relationships with school liaisons and support community integration. Facility Management:
Ensure vehicle safety, cleanliness, and maintenance. Volunteer Development:
Engage and supervise volunteers. Community Support:
Assist in fundraising and collaborate with community organizations. Core Competencies
Mission-oriented, People-oriented, Results-oriented, Personal development, and specific competencies for working with children and youth. Qualifications
Excellent driving record, valid 7D or school bus license At least 21 years old, 3+ years driving experience Knowledge of MA driving laws Leadership and crisis management skills Valid First Aid and CPR certifications Ability to build positive relationships and address needs professionally Additional Details
