Overview
New York University Assistant Director, Development Marketing & Communications (UDAR) US-NY-New York University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) is dedicated to soliciting the private funding necessary to support the strategic goals of the University in teaching, learning, and research. The personnel of UDAR work university-wide as well as within individual schools and colleges of the University to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, faculty, and friends for immediate, long-range, and future financial support, through gifts and pledges to the University, for critical operations such as student aid, faculty support, academic and research program development, and facilities and infrastructure. UDAR's endeavors raise funds for immediate University use and also for the University's endowment. The Assistant Director of Development Marketing & Communications at UDAR establishes and drives NYU's fundraising and stewardship marketing and digital communications efforts, including crafting compelling narratives, building digital communications and event registration pages, and updating websites to drive philanthropic support. Create and implement targeted communication that promotes engagement and philanthropy among various stakeholders, including alumni, donors, parents, and the broader University community. Collaborate with units within UDAR and across the University, schools, and administrative units on language usage, digital communications, donor stories, and more. Partner with Development Communications leadership on efforts that showcase NYU's commitment to philanthropy, inclusivity, and academic excellence. Develop, implement, and iterate systems related to email marketing and content creation for donor management. Oversee the maintenance of the textual and visual language of NYU and UDAR with colleagues across the unit. Manage Intranet and web giving pages with up-to-date content and resources. Establish and drive NYU's fundraising and stewardship marketing and digital communications efforts. Craft compelling narratives and update websites and event registration pages to promote philanthropic support. Collaborate with UDAR units and across NYU on language usage, donor stories, and digital communications. Partner with Development Communications leadership to showcase NYU's commitment to philanthropy, inclusivity, and academic excellence. Bachelor's Degree Experience
5+ years relevant experience in communications, marketing, nonprofit development, or a comparable field or a combination of education and experience Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills; experience with email marketing platforms; familiarity with Adobe design software (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop); familiarity with WordPress or a similar website hosting platform; strong project-management skills; meticulous copy-editor and writer. Adept at learning new platforms and systems. Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Experience with Give Campus, Cvent, EMMA / Email Direct, website content management systems (CMS) and with fundraising or storytelling. People and project management. Salary and Equal Opportunity
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $75,000.00 to USD $95,000.00. NYU considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education / training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
