Cardiac PET CT Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Lisle - Cardiology
Position Highlights :

Responsibilities
Properly protocols exams according to the accepted policy within the department. Perform ordered examinations of appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of the department. Provide radiologist with quality networked images. Determine appropriateness and standard protocols, dosage and type of radionuclide necessary for completion of exam under the guidance of the Radiologist. . Properly receives, stores and disposes of radioactive materials according to the IEMA regulations for ionizing radiation. Conducts patient interview, reviews for adequate clinical history, explains safety precautions and provides the patient with assistance during procedure. Administer radiopharmaceuticals orally, intravenously or intradermally according to department guidelines. Maintain technical competencies with computer applications and scanning protocols through continuing education and participation in Duly sponsored training programs. Participate in the ACR process to ensure proper accreditation for the department. Utilize knowledge of Radiation Safety Procedures to maintain exposure levels that are as low as reasonably achievable (ALRA) for both the technologist and patients. Perform daily and weekly Quality Control checks on imaging equipment and cameras. Keeps records of all Quality Assurance procedures and results including package check in/out, room monitoring, wipe testing, dose calibration, linearity, and proper IEMA record keeping and tracking. Provide appropriate care to infants, children, adolescents, adult and geriatric patients.
Qualifications
Have knowledge of radiation safety and protection, handling of radiopharmaceuticals, all aspects of performing examinations, operation of equipment, handling of medical and radioactive waste, patient safety, and applicable rules and regulations. Ability to lift a minimum of 60 pounds as well as assist with patient maneuvering. Proficient IV starts/injections/removal.
EDUCATION and / or CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
Graduate of an accredited 2 or 4 year Nuclear Medicine program CPR certification Active Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and/or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Maintains a current IEMA license and complies with yearly CME regulations
EXPERIENCE:
2 years nuclear imaging experience preferred
The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $35.25-52.90 with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
