About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Medical Director/VP, Clinical Development to play a pivotal role in advancing its immunology and inflammation programs. The successful candidate will be a key member of the clinical leadership team, providing medical leadership and being hands-on in early-stage clinical programs, including first-in-human studies. This role involves close collaboration with research and translational teams to align clinical and pre-clinical priorities and may extend to providing clinical leadership across the company's pipeline. The ideal candidate is a board-certified rheumatologist or immunologist with a strong track record in early development and a deep commitment to the execution of clinical trials.
Key responsibilities for this position include building and advancing the medical vision and clinical strategy, defining regulatory, operational, and scientific strategy for the pipeline, and leading clinical data review to support patient safety and program decisions. The role also requires acting as a medical lead for clinical studies, authoring and reviewing critical documents, and ensuring that trials are conducted in compliance with regulatory requirements. The candidate should have an MD with board certification in rheumatology or immunology, at least 5 years of biopharmaceutical industry experience in clinical development, and a proven ability to collaborate across functions. Strong hands-on experience in medical monitoring, clinical data review, and a working knowledge of GCP, ICH, FDA, EMEA, and other key health agency regulations are essential. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, results-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building strong relationships both internally and externally.
