**Position Summary**

The Journeyman Engineer is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical infrastructure.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

+ Operate, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, and cooling towers.

+ Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems.

+ Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.

+ Maintain plumbing systems including pumps, valves, and fixtures.

+ Respond to service requests and emergency calls in a timely manner.

+ Maintain accurate logs, records, and documentation of work performed.

+ Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.

+ Assist in training and mentoring apprentice engineers and maintenance staff.

+ Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services.

**Qualifications**

+ BOMA Certification through IUOE Local 501.

+ Minimum 3-5 years of experience in building operations or facilities maintenance.

+ Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

+ Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.

+ Valid California Driver's License.

+ Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks including climbing, bending, and kneeling.

+ Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and in secure environments.

**Working Conditions**

+ Indoor and outdoor environments.

+ Exposure to mechanical and electrical hazards.

+ May require use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
