Overview
Role: MRI Technologist, Mary and Elizabeth Hospital, 9:00a7:30p, MondayThursday. Shift: First Shift. Location: 1850 Bluegrass Ave, Louisville, KY 40215. Responsibilities
Operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies. Maintains knowledge and awareness of high magnetic field strength safety. Prepares and administers contrast media in accordance with hospital policy and state and federal regulations. Obtains patient history and screening forms, explains routine procedures, and addresses patient concerns. Maintains patient records and files and performs quality assurance on the MRI scanner as needed. Essential Functions
Performs procedures to ensure quality patient care in accordance with Radiologists expectations and protocols. Ensures compliance with National Patient Safety goals. Supports and reports identified compliance matters. Participates in hospital and department quality assurance programs to ensure safety and satisfaction. Uses standard precautions, including PPE, at all times. Contributes to efficient operation and monitoring of the department and uses resources efficiently. Other Functions
Maintains professional development and education for technical competency. Maintains regulatory compliance and licensure for the current position. Attends all UofL Health required educational programs and completes all KNOW modules. Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct. Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times. Performs other duties as assigned. Education
Graduate of an accredited school of MR Radiologic Technology (required). Experience
Previous experience in MRI (preferred). Licensure
Valid Kentucky Radiation Operators License (strongly preferred). Certification
Possess and maintain certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Possess and maintain ARRT certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) within 2 years of employment or transferring into position. Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) within 30 days of employment (required). Job Details
