We are looking to hire a full-time Network Security Engineer for our Getzville, NY location. We are looking for someone local who can be on site during the work week to help and support our clients and troubleshoot their technical problems. Responsibilities:
The Network and Security Engineer is responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining new and existing systems and infrastructure. Provide level 3 support to IT staff and Aspire employees. The Engineer is responsible for assessing systems, determining problems, providing solutions to issues that arise, designing systems, upgrading systems, maintaining systems and designing solutions to improve systems while applying and considering security best practices and CIS controls.
The Network Engineers role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the information systems that support core organizational functions
Network expertise in implementing, administering, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices, including: firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points and controllers
Troubleshoot issues related to network infrastructure and assist with network configuration
Monitor, analyze and respond to infrastructure events
Oversee and provide operations support including account management, workflow, log analysis, troubleshooting and service optimization
Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
Liaise with vendors and other departments for problem resolution, project input, and troubleshooting
Provide 2nd and 3rd level support
Role will be working in a predominately DellFortinet environment and be responsible for routers, switches, VPNs, and firewalls
Participate in general IT operations and user support
Required Skills:
Associate degree in a technology-related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) or equivalent qualification.
Experience with Systems Administration of Windows Servers, VMware, Azure
3+ years in Networking (Layer 2/3)
Strong understanding of enterprise-class networks, switches, and routers (FortinetFortigate, Dell)
Minimum of 3+ years experience with network firewalls and threat prevention
Experience with Cloud Infrastructure: Microsoft 365: SharePoint, OneDrive, Azure
Preferred skills:
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent experience on Cisco infrastructure or equivalent DellFortinet
IT experience within a multi-location organization
Advanced knowledge of networking principles and operating systems.
Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) highly desirable
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) highly desirable
VMWare Certification highly desirable
Ability to quickly diagnose issues and suggest solutions
Experience with Fortigate or equivalent (Firewalls)
Strong knowledge of Networking Topology and Design
Systems Architectural design, and Network Security Administration.
VMWare Certification highly desirable
Administration Veeam
Ability to quickly diagnose issues and suggest solutions
Experience with Fortigate or equivalent (Firewalls)
Strong knowledge of Networking Topology and Design
Cybersecurity & Network Security Administration.
Microsoft / Cisco certifications are a plus
Salary range: $85,500 $101,600 annually
