The Staff RN utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care within the designated setting, based on medical and nursing treatment plans, standards, and protocols. The role involves delivering nursing care to the patient population served in the unit.

Department-Specific Competencies:
Attends NICU staff and multidisciplinary meetings, supporting protocol implementation
Supports new or transferred staff through orientation
Ensures patient safety by monitoring and educating parents about the environment
Provides care for patients with arterial lines
Collaborates with management and healthcare teams to ensure data accuracy and compliance. Identifies educational needs, mentors staff, and implements infection control procedures to reduce hospital-acquired infections, including care for central lines, urinary tract, surgical sites, and respiratory infections such as influenza.
Performs central line care as per hospital policy, assists with breastfeeding education, and manages oxygen therapy, airway insertion, and mechanical ventilation. Capable of managing high-risk deliveries, neonatal resuscitation, and emergency codes.
Education:
College Diploma in Nursing Experience:
1 year in NICU or relevant area Licensure/Certification:
Registered Nurse License, BCLS or ACLS, NRP, and national certification in specialty area Compensation Range:
$48.48 - $75.47 per hour
