The Vice President of Advancement and Community Impact is a strategic leader responsible for cultivating relationships, securing funding, and building infrastructure to demonstrate and expand Herzing University's impact. This role involves leading the development of the Advancement department and a University-wide community impact strategy to meet institutional goals, enhance engagement, and support social and economic mobility.
This position will elevate philanthropic growth and public awareness by aligning fundraising strategies with Herzing's mission to support individuals and communities through workforce development and inclusive partnerships. The Vice President will oversee storytelling, visibility efforts, stakeholder partnerships, and data-driven decision-making to support grants and donor engagement.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor's degree is required; a graduate degree is preferred. Seven to ten years of leadership experience in advancement, including interaction with boards, preferably in higher education or similar organizations. Proven success in achieving fundraising goals, especially at the major and principal gift levels. Experience with fundraising technology platforms such as Salesforce is strongly preferred. COMPENSATION:
Compensation is based on qualifications and experience. The salary range is $123,250 to $166,750. Benefits include tuition support, health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plans.

Community Impact Leadership
Build support for the University's community impact, focusing on student success, volunteerism, workforce development, and economic outcomes. Develop and lead a University-wide community impact strategy aligned with institutional and regional needs. Create a framework to report on outcomes like student success, workforce alignment, and economic impact, using data and narratives. Identify and prioritize community partnerships that benefit the University and its communities, establishing engagement criteria. Partner with leaders to embed community impact objectives across the University. Support grant funding efforts by identifying sources, defining value propositions, and sharing impact stories. Develop impact reports and case studies to showcase community and workforce contributions. Position the University as a key community asset through partnerships and strategic communications. Align community impact initiatives with fundraising to demonstrate ROI to donors. Advise on and participate in external boards and coalitions to enhance visibility and impact. Advancement Strategy and Execution
Implement a comprehensive advancement plan covering all gift levels and constituencies. Advise the President and Board on fundraising and institutional positioning. Lead donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts with a focus on major donors. Develop engagement strategies that connect giving to impact stories. Establish systems and policies for fundraising operations and donor management. Oversee communications, events, and alumni engagement activities. Create and execute fundraising initiatives, managing donor prospects and relationships. Utilize technology like Salesforce for campaign effectiveness. Work with leadership to identify and cultivate major donors and partners. Set fundraising goals, lead activities, and build community engagement through partnerships. Represent the University at events and in the community. Prepare revenue projections and manage budgets. Participate in strategic planning to enhance financial resources. Recruit, onboard, and lead a team of advancement professionals. Coordinate with internal teams and regional leaders to meet shared goals.
