Summary
Plans numerical control program to control contour path machining of parts for computerized numerical control machine tools by performing the following duties.
Duties and skill requirements:
Analyze manufacturing plan, drawings, sketches, and design data of part to determine dimension and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and feed rates.
Set up, program and adjust CNC manufacturing machinery and CAM computer software.
Design tools and fixtures for improved machining, understanding speeds/feeds of tools and their effect on manufacturing cycle time and providing support to machinists.
Actively search for process improvement opportunities, while keeping production standards and safety as top priorities.
Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate developing technologies to improve manufacturing processes.
Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
Observe the safety rules and regulations and wear the required safety equipment.
Support the Quality Management System to assure compliance to quality, industrial and government standards and regulations.
Must have organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Team player
Education and/or Experience 5+ years of related experience in Aerospace manufacturing of metallic components. 3+ years previous CNC machine experience using Mastercam software, including machine setup and operation, a working knowledge of software programs such as SolidWorks, and the ability to read blueprints, graphics and CNC programs.
