VIDEO PRODUCTION DIRECTOR - NY or DC Fenton is a social change agency taking on the world’s toughest challenges in human rights, social and economic justice, environment, education, and public health. We create strategies for clients to help build a more just, equitable, and sustainable world. We are a remote-forward agency with staff primarily working from home and gathering in person in co-working spaces. Employees reside within 35 miles of our hubs in New York City, Washington DC, Los Angeles, and the Bay Area region. Produce and direct on-location shoots – hire and manage crew, lead pre-production meetings, prepare talent, conduct interviews, and oversee client relations. Edit across diverse formats and styles – including anthem, social media, advertising, documentary, and testimonial content. Color and audio finishing – apply advanced color correction, audio mixing, and post-production polishing for consistency and high-quality output. Collaborate with multiple stakeholders – work with clients, production, creative, and account teams to deliver cohesive videos. Contribute to creative strategy – translate client-approved messaging into impactful videos with original briefs, scripts, and storyboards. Manage production projects and teams – oversee timelines, budgets, and workflows to keep projects on track. Strengthen and evolve production systems – track projects, maintain strong communication between internal teams and clients, and refine workflows. Qualifications
Minimum of five years of relevant production and post-production experience in a client-facing context. Expertise editing using Adobe Creative Cloud and other industry-standard tools (e.g., Premiere, After Effects, Audition, DaVinci Resolve). Advanced color correction and grading skills with strong attention to visual quality and consistency. Proficiency in following brand guidelines and transforming brands into impactful video storytelling. Strong sense of visual storytelling, keen eye for detail, and continuity. Detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to develop clear production procedures; confident presenting concepts to clients and external stakeholders. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously; strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Experience with project management tools to track tasks, timelines, and team coordination. Knowledge of accessibility standards as they relate to video production. Background in impact or documentary filmmaking is a plus. Compensation & Benefits
