Project Engineer / Project Manager

Responsible for defining, planning, and executing construction projects with a focus on water and wastewater infrastructure. This role involves managing budgets, schedules, risks, and client relationships to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Execution:
  • Develops project definitions, schedules, budgets, and objectives. Prepares detailed statements of work and work breakdown structures. Secures approvals from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Risk Management:
  • Assesses potential project risks and implements mitigation strategies. Monitors risks throughout the project lifecycle and escalates issues when necessary.
  • Financial Oversight:
  • Manages project costs to ensure profitability. Tracks and communicates residual risks related to time and cost. Reviews and approves subcontractor/vendor invoices and ensures timely client billing and payment follow-up.
  • Performance Monitoring:
  • Conducts ongoing reviews of project status and performance metrics. Manages changes using established change management protocols and collaborates with stakeholders to adjust project scope and schedule as needed.
  • Safety & Compliance:
  • Ensures project scope is reviewed by safety managers and that safety plans are properly implemented. Responds promptly to audit findings and corrective actions.
  • Technical Leadership:
  • Applies engineering and construction techniques, procedures, and standards. Provides guidance to designers, engineers, contractors, and other project team members.
  • Resource Management:
  • Develops and manages project resource plans. Coordinates staffing needs, including procurement of subcontractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with procurement processes.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Communicates project goals, deadlines, and assignments clearly. Assigns tasks, provides direction, and offers coaching and performance feedback. Escalates performance issues as needed.
  • Client Relations:
  • Builds and maintains strong client relationships. Ensures client satisfaction through quality, timely project delivery and effective expectation management.

Experience Level:

Intermediate Ideal for candidates with foundational experience in construction project management and a strong interest in infrastructure projects.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
