Summary
To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the school office so that the office's maximum positive impact on the education of students can be realized. Acts as the first contact with visitors both on the telephone and in person. Performs filing and clerical duties as needed.

Individual must be able to read and interpret documents, Write simple and complex reports, applications, and correspondence, and speak with students, staff members, and community members.

Basic math skills are required.

The ability to interpret and follow directions is required, as are basic problem-solving abilities.
Technology
Must have strong computer skills, including word processing, working with spreadsheets, and internet. Must have the ability to learn new systems and software with instruction.
Additional Skills and Abilities
This individual must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to safeguard confidential information. Also, must be organized, motivated, and honest.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greets all visitors.
- Represents a professional, warm, and cheerful persona to all visitors, students, and parents.
- Receives and routes incoming calls.
- Writes passes for students leaving and entering the campus and tracking such passes in the computer.
- Assists other Admin Assistants in any office duties needed.
- Distributes messages to students, teacher, and other staff in a timely manner.
- Performs impromptu intercom announcements as directed by principal, principal admin asst, or teachers.
- Requests homework for absent students.
- Enters information pertinent to absences, check out, and Doctor or parent notes as required.
- Place orders for yearend letters/forms and passes maintained at the front desk.
- Supervises student aides as they work in the front office.
- Update weekly electronic event calendar in conjunction with JNN instructor.
- Monitor lost and found procedures.
- Performs other duties as requested by building administrators.

Qualifications
Education/Experience/Certificates
- High school diploma required.
- College is considered a plus.
- Such alternative to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
