A leading hospital in New York City is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Emergency Medicine Physician to join its high-performing emergency department. The ideal candidate will provide immediate medical care to patients with acute illnesses and injuries, work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to clinical education and research initiatives.
About the Opportunity
- Schedule : Full time, Monday through Friday, on call
- On Call : Yes
- Setting : Inpatient
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients presenting with urgent and emergent medical conditions
- Perform rapid assessments and initiate appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic interventions
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests including labs, imaging, and EKGs
- Manage trauma, cardiac, neurological, and respiratory emergencies
- Collaborate with nurses, physician assistants, specialists, and other healthcare professionals
- Supervise residents and medical students (in academic settings)
- Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the EMR
- Participate in quality improvement, simulation training, and departmental meetings
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emergency medicine best practices and protocols
Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine residency
- Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM)
- Valid New York State medical license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work under pressure
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
