A certified School Nurse (CSN) or a Registered Nurse (RN) with a waiver and vision/hearing screening certification is needed to support multiple K-12 school sites in the Chula Vista, CA area. Key Responsibilities: Conduct vision and hearing screenings for students across multiple school locations Work closely with students who have Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to complete required screenings and document medical information accurately Collaborate with school personnel to manage student health needs and maintain compliance with district policies Document and report findings to appropriate staff and families ensuring timely follow-up Maintain student confidentiality and uphold professional nursing standards Qualifications: Current RN license or Certified School Nurse (CSN) credential Waiver for RN to act as a school nurse, along with required vision and hearing screening certifications if applicable Experience working in school health settings, ideally with K-12 students Strong organizational and documentation skills Ability to engage compassionately with students requiring IEP accommodations Location: Various school sites within Chula Vista, California This contract assignment spans the course of the school year (CSY), providing a dynamic environment to make a measurable impact on student health and academic success.
