Requirements
• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
• Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a related specialty
• Active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in Washington State
• Valid DEA registration and NPI number
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, preferably in correctional, public health, or underserved settings
• Demonstrated experience in medical administration or clinical leadership
• Familiarity with NCCHC and WASPC accreditation standards
• Ability to pass comprehensive background checks and drug screening
Responsibilities
• Provide clinical oversight and medical leadership for healthcare services within the correctional setting.
• Ensure compliance with NCCHC, WASPC, and applicable local, state, and federal healthcare standards.
• Supervise and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare staff, including nurses, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners.
• Develop, implement, and regularly review evidence-based medical policies, procedures, and clinical protocols.
• Lead quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts in patient care delivery.
• Review and provide guidance on complex medical cases, including deaths in custody.
• Oversee infection control measures, chronic care management, and medication administration practices.
• Participate in administrative meetings, audits, and long-term strategic planning.
• Serve as a liaison for clinical communication and coordination among internal staff and external stakeholders.
