Position Overview: The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) in Reno, NV, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced physician to serve as the Deputy Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR). The Deputy Chief will work closely with the Chief of PMR to oversee and enhance the delivery of exceptional rehabilitative and physical medicine services to our veteran population in the Reno area. This role is vital in ensuring that our veterans receive the highest quality care, tailored to their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief of PMR in the administration, planning, evaluation, and implementation of the PMR program.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the PMR team, including physicians, therapists, and support staff.
- Ensure compliance with VHA policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Participate in the development and execution of strategic initiatives to enhance PMR services.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Participate in peer review and quality assurance activities.
- Engage in clinical practice to maintain proficiency and provide direct patient care as needed.
- Mentor and provide educational opportunities for PMR staff and trainees.
- Contribute to research and academic pursuits in the field of PMR.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Board Eligible or Board certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
- Eligibility for an unrestricted medical license in the United States.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
