Position Summary Information

General Summary

TheDigital Media Coordinatorcreates multimedia content to powerfully communicate WSSC Water’s story and engage customers, employees, and the community. Content creation includes visually compelling presentations, text, images, animation, infographics, shooting and editing video, script writing, and supporting livestream operations and social media. This position is part of the Communications team that works in a fast-pace collaborative environment.

Essential Functions

Creates visually compelling PowerPoint presentations that communicate information in a clear and concise manner through a highly designed visual experience

Develops informative and purposeful original ideas for a variety of digital content

Collaborates with internal clients to understand their needs, transforming technical or text-heavy material into clear, visually compelling communications

Shoots and edits videos

Uses text, images, sound, video, and graphics to create key messages, and share stories and information related to WSSC Water

Manages photo database

Supports all livestream operations including content development and the production of internal livestream events and Commission Meetings

Assists in content creation, planning, scheduling, and monitoring for all social media accounts

Detail-oriented and reliable, with proven success in juggling multiple projects and delivering high-quality work on time

Stays informed of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously elevate WSSC Water’s brand

Other Functions

Performs other related duties as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Expert-level in creating visually compelling and engaging PowerPoint presentations

Expertise in creating visually appealing and informative infographics

Ability to translate complex information into clear and visually appealing formats

Ability to think critically, solve problems, and make informed decisions

Ability to organize and manage photo database

Ability to create and post social media content

Ability to meet multiple deadlines under pressure

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Ability to work flexible hours and non-typical schedules, including weekends

Minimum Education, Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communication, Broadcasting, Digital Media, Public Relations, English, or related field

3+ years of digital media experience

OR

Associate degree in Digital Media or related field

5+ years of digital media experience

OR

High School diploma or equivalent

7+ years of digital media experience

Additional Requirements

Possession of a valid driver’s license, with no more than 4 points, and the ability to obtain and maintain a WSSC Water driver’s permit within 90 days of hire or transfer

Flexibility to work varying hours and to travel throughout Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties

Preferences

Water and wastewater industry, Engineering knowledge

Spanish proficiency

Salary$85,214 - $145,095
