Responsibilities

Altec is looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst to join our growing team in Birmingham, AL. This person will analyze software business requirements and develop effective test strategies and plans. Effective testing ensures alignment of business requests to the developed software solutions. Responsible for development and execution of test cases and reporting of metrics and defects to the Agile team. Requires an attention to detail and understanding of technology systems so that appropriate testing is applied in a timely manner.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Attend Agile ceremonies, giving insight into QA dependencies and reporting progress as-neededReview and document application specificationsDevelop and maintain test plans, test cases (both manual and automated) and dependencies such as data and environment configurationDetermine proper test coverage so that effort is right-sizedExecute test cases to assess functionality, reliability, performance, and quality of the software productReport on quality metrics and defects to development teams for timely correctionTriage defects assessing priority and severity according to user and business needVerify defects found have been correctedAssist in suggesting improvements to Quality Assurance standardsWork with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycleSupport and analyze production issues as neededDocument release notes, training plans, updates to documentation, and other QA processes and proceduresSupports process improvement eventsRemain highly adaptable - due to the turbulent nature of priorities in supporting customers, this role requires high adaptability to changing demands, deadlines, and prioritiesAll other duties as assignedEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Bachelor's degree in related discipline strongly preferred, but consideration may be given to an exceptional candidate with five years relevant work experience At least one year of relevant work experience required Proven ability to learn and apply new and current concepts, practices, and procedures in the fieldAbility to perform a wide variety of tasksAbility to prioritize workloadMust employ experience and good judgment to plan and accomplish goals.Current valid driver's license.Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.Must be able to work independentlyMay lead and supervise the work of othersAbility to influence others and show value of QA activitiesHave an attitude and tenacity for continuous quality improvementSQL experience for data analysis and validation preferredExperience with ALM tools (Atlassian) and Test Management Tools (TestRail) preferredExperience with WebDriver/Selenium or other Test Automation tools preferredCommunication with Others:

Requires outside and inside contacts to carry out company policy and programs; Improper handling will have considerable effect on operational results; Must often deal with matters requiring explanation, persuasion and obtaining of approvalsExperience Level Adjustmnt
