The Customer Service Representative (CSR) plays a key role in supporting customers by accurately processing purchase orders, maintaining detailed records, and ensuring seamless communication between clients and production. This role requires strong data entry skills, familiarity with inventory management systems, and the ability to learn technical details related to metal processing operations, including gauges and machine capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for customers.

Accurately receive, review, and enter purchase orders into the company's inventory management system.

Perform heavy data entry tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Verify order details, pricing, and specifications, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and production capabilities.

Maintain accurate customer records, documentation, and files within company systems.

Communicate effectively with production, shipping, and sales teams to ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders.

Learn and apply knowledge of the company's machine operations, gauges, and processing capabilities to assist customers and ensure accurate order handling.

Use Microsoft Outlook for professional communication and scheduling.

Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and solution-oriented manner.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to processes, systems, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

2+ years of experience in customer service, order processing, or administrative support (manufacturing/metal industry experience a plus).

Strong data entry skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook and Excel.

Experience using an inventory management or ERP system preferred.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

Willingness to learn technical product knowledge, including gauges and machine operations.

Knowledge of Excel not required, but a plus.

What You'll Do:

Receive and process customer purchase orders with accuracy and efficiency

Perform heavy data entry using our inventory management system

Provide excellent customer service via phone and email (Outlook)

Communicate with production and shipping to ensure on-time order fulfillment

Track orders and provide updates to customers

Learn gauges and machine operations to better support customer needs

What We're Looking For:

Prior customer service or order processing experience (manufacturing experience a plus)

Strong data entry and computer skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel not required, but a plus.

Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Willingness to learn technical details about our machines and processes
