Senior Software Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast paced environment, operate gracefully under stress, effectively manage multiple assignments, be self driven, proactive and have great interpersonal and communication skills.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and maintenance of our core cybersecurity products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable, reliable, and secure software solutions that address complex technical challenges. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to mentor and collaborate effectively with other engineers.
Responsibilities
Software Development: Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and secure software components using Go, Python, and Node.js, focusing on backend development and API design.
Technical Problem Solving: Analyze and troubleshoot complex technical issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to understand requirements, design solutions, and implement features.
Code Quality: Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code, following industry best practices and coding standards.
Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers, helping them grow their skills and knowledge.
Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in software development and cybersecurity, and contribute to the team's continuous learning and improvement efforts.
Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong background in backend development and API design.
Technical Skills: Expert proficiency in at least one core language (Go, Python, or Node.js). Experience with modern web frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask, Express.js). Strong understanding of database design with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB). Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (GCP) and containerization (Docker). Experience with TDD and CI/CD practices.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills; strong problem-solving and analytical abilities; ability to work independently and as part of a team; passion for learning and self-improvement.
Bonus: Experience with cybersecurity products or technologies; familiarity with ML/AI; knowledge of big data tools; contributions to open source; experience with other languages (Rust, Java, C#).
Required Technical Skills
Programming Languages: Expert in Go (Golang) or Python; Proficient in Node.js (JavaScript/TypeScript); Bonus: other backend languages.
Backend Development: Expert in RESTful API design and development; Proficient in web frameworks (Django/Flask for Python; Express.js for Node.js); Bonus: GraphQL or gRPC.
Databases: Proficient in SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB); Bonus: MySQL, Cassandra, Elasticsearch.
Cloud Infrastructure: Proficient in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) – Compute, App Engine, Cloud Functions; Storage; Networking (VPC, Load Balancing). Bonus: AWS or Azure, Terraform or other IaC tools.
DevOps & Tooling: Proficient with Git, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI); Bonus: Docker, Kubernetes, configuration management tools.
Security: Proficient in secure coding practices, authentication/authorization, OWASP Top 10; Bonus: security tools (Snyk, OWASP ZAP), threat modeling, or security certifications.
Testing: Proficient in unit, integration testing, and TDD; Bonus: end-to-end or performance testing frameworks.
