Preschool Service Teacher Aide II Job Description

Join us and make a difference with preschool children as a Teacher's Aide II. We have Teacher Aide II positions for the San Bernardino County Head Start locations. San Bernardino is the largest county in the United States. We have availability and we are recruiting for most of the 37 sites throughout the County. Compensation for this position is $20.97 per hour. The Preschool Teacher Aide II position follows a school year calendar with a work week primarily being 40 hours per week except for holidays and scheduled in-service days.

Our client, the San Bernardino Head Start is seeking qualified Teacher Aides level II individuals for the 2025 to 2026 school year. A Teacher’s Aide II substitute helps a lead teacher in a variety of functions, and may include observing, supervising and planning activities such as storytelling and art projects. There are additional duties within an organized and educational childcare environment. This role will require a great deal of patience and the ability to help children in a positive, responsible and nurturing manner.

We are seeking employees with excellent work ethics, a nice energy level and effective communication skills.

Mandatory Educational Requirements for Level II:

Associate degree (or Higher) in Child Development or Early Childhood Education. An Alternate degree may be substituted if you have 6 semester/9 quarter units in Child Development or Early Childhood Education coursework and

•A Food Handlers Permit Obtained through San Bernardino County Public Health.

Or

An Associate Teacher Permit (or higher) and

•A Food Handlers Permit Obtained through San Bernardino County Public Health.

This position will require the candidate to submit and pass a background screen, drug screen and Live Scan (paid for by employer). TB & Immunizations (Measles and Pertussis), a San Bernardino Food Handler Card, Child Development coursework and the California mandated court reporter certificate must be provided by the candidate before employment begins.

The position is compensated at $20.97 per hour with benefits. The typical schedule is 40 hours per week working Monday-Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm. This position follows the school calendar year.
