Systems Analyst

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Ensures IT systems are designed, implemented, and maintained effectively to support organizational and user needs, acting as a bridge between requirements and technical solutions. Works with stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze requirements, translating business needs into technical specifications, and creates comprehensive technical documentation including flow diagrams, system models, and user guides. Evaluates proposed solutions for technical and financial viability, and coordinates with Developers, Network Engineers, and other IT professionals to implement and smoothly integrate systems. Evaluates Test Plans to ensure systems meet requirements, assists with training users and IT staff on new systems, supports troubleshooting, and analyzes/improves processes for efficiency and productivity. Ensures systems comply with security policies and regulatory requirements, stays updated with technology trends, recommends new beneficial technologies, and provides direction and mentorship to subordinate staff. Minimum Qualifications: BA/BS in field necessary to assume Systems Analyst duties or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree. 2+ years of Systems Analyst specific experience. Experience in systems analysis or a related field, with a proven track record of analyzing, designing, and implementing IT systems. Deep understanding of systems analysis methodologies and best practices. Expertise in requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation. Knowledge of system development lifecycle (SDLC) models. Proficiency in creating technical documentation, including flow diagrams, system models, and specifications. Understanding of network infrastructure, databases, and software applications. Desired Qualifications: Master's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field. Experience supporting DoD programs and with cloud-based technologies. Experience with specific systems analysis tools and methodologies (e.g., UML, BPMN). Knowledge of Cybersecurity Frameworks and best practices. Familiarity with cloud computing technologies and platforms. Experience with agile-informed development methodologies. DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification. Relevant certifications in systems analysis or ITIL (e.g., Certified Systems Analyst (CSA), ITIL Foundation certificate). Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired. Clearance Requirements: Must have a current/active Secret clearance. Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer. The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
