CDL/Inspector
The CDL/Inspector will drive or fly out to locations to finalize deals for the Purchasing Department. The CDL/Inspector will inspect trucks before bringing them back to the dealership. This position will require advanced negotiating skills as well as a basic mechanical understanding of heavy-duty vehicles. Punctuality is essential in this position. Key Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions: Drivers must be on call and available Monday Friday and two weekends a month Notify management a week in advance of any days you will not be available Ability to work weekends if desired Negotiate with sellers Inspect trucks and be able to identify mechanical and cosmetic issues Account for expenditure and follow company spending policies Ability to handle cash and follow chain of custody Adhere to the Truck Purchasing Preparation Checklist Understand and follow company policy pertaining to spending and credit card use Performs other job duties assigned by management Required Education, Skills & Abilities: Minimum education: Highschool graduation or its equivalent Class A or B CDL with no manual restriction Previous mechanical, troubleshooting, or heavy inspection experience a plus Must have an up-to-date DOT physical Physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential function of the job. Physical demands include: Must be able to climb in and out of trucks Must be able to crawl under trucks and under the hood Must be able to lift and carry 50+ pounds Ability to bend, squat, and lift frequently Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
