Shipping Receiving Clerk I
Peraton is seeking skilled and qualified candidates for their Shipping Receiving Clerk I position. The Shipping Receiving Clerk works at the United States Postal Service (USPS) Central Repair Facility (CRF) in Topeka, KS. The CRF is a depot repair facility for USPS mail processing, delivery, and bulk mail systems repairable parts. The CRF provides depot level maintenance for essential automation, mechanization, retail and bulk mail processing systems used in all mail processing and retail installations. Our Shipping Receiving Clerk performs shipping and receiving functions in support of the USPS Central Repair Facility. Job specific tasks include: Performs interchangeably as receiving clerk and shipping clerk Unpacks, identifies, and prepares necessary receiving documents required for work control of end items as established in work instructions Unloads and distributes piece parts and supplies to appropriate areas Follows instructions for packing, marking, and shipping as required to meet timely shipping performance Coordinates necessary shipping paperwork as required in the established work instructions May be required to operate a motor vehicle in the movement of goods Extensive interactions with internal and external customers Performs other related tasks as assigned Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: High School graduate or equivalent One year of related experience required U.S. Citizenship Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance Forklift operation experience Ability to obtain and maintain forklift license Ability to use small hand tools and operate machines Ability to work with computers Ability to stand on feet for long durations Preferred Qualifications: Experience with banding, Insta-pack, pad pack, and similar equipment Experience with storage and handling of ESD sensitive items Physical Requirements: Heavy work, exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects Physical activity may include forklift, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, and repetitive motion Required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment Subject to hazards; includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range: 19.52 Target Salary Range: The rate / range per hour below represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
