JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Director of Transformative and Principal Giving, serving on the DAR Executive Team and Gift Officer leadership team, and reporting directly to the Associate Vice President of Development, is focused on growing the number of seven-, eight-, and nine-figure gifts secured by UT Southwestern. The Senior Director is primarily externally facing, will have experience securing $5M(+) gifts from individuals and families, and will manage a cross-functional team of professionals focused on securing philanthropic funds in support of UT Southwestern's mission. Staffing a curated portfolio of $5M(+) prospects, the Senior Director will possess high emotional intelligence and the maturity to engage Fortune 500 CEOs, leading philanthropists, and faculty leaders, including the Office of the President.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required

Education Bachelor's Degree in a related field Experience 10 years of fundraising and/or related professional experience, with a proven track record of securing $5M(+) gifts from individuals.

3 years of experience managing frontline fundraisers, sales teams, and/or related revenue-generating teams Preferred

Education Advanced degree in a related field Experience Familiarity with gift planning concepts, including gifts of non-cash assets, a plus.

JOB DUTIES

Primarily tasked with building a donor pipeline and making successful solicitations with donors capable of making multimillion dollar contributions.

Works closely with UTSW and DAR Executive Leadership to develop and implement solicitation strategies for transformative and principal level donors.

Leads and inspires a cross-function development team working to identify, cultivate, and secure $1M(+) gifts from local, regional, and national funders

Will help grow the DAR team adding and managing gift officers who will focus on qualifying and soliciting high net worth prospects throughout the United States beyond north Texas.

In collaboration with the Associate Vice President of Development, Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations, and other DAR colleagues, responsible for setting overall fundraising strategy for UT Southwestern.

In collaboration with AVP of Development, establishes metrics for Transformative and Principal Giving, and National Funding team.

Within three years, secures minimum of $10M(+) in annual philanthropic revenue from self-managed portfolio.

Provides oversight and vision for Transformative and Principal Giving strategy meetings.

Serves on all UT Southwestern programmatic and comprehensive capital campaign leadership teams.

Collaborates with campus leadership and DAR colleagues to help identify and design transformative projects worthy of significant philanthropic investment.

Performs related duties as required and other duties as assigned.
