Project Manager

 

A client of ours is looking for a Project Manager  for a contract role. This role is responsible for managing initiatives from concept approval through to manufacturing and launch. The ideal candidate will be skilled at coordinating cross-functional teams, ensuring financial and operational targets are met, and maintaining alignment with our stage-gate process.


Responsibilities of Project Manager  

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, overseeing timelines, budgets, risks, and deliverables.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (R& D, Marketing, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and Business Units) as well as external stakeholders to drive project success.
  • Lead project team meetings to ensure task completion, remove roadblocks, and escalate issues when needed.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of innovation information throughout the Stage-Gate process.
  • Coordinate and present platform and project reviews for project teams and senior leadership.
  • Monitor project financials to ensure performance against set targets.
  • Develop and maintain project timelines, risk assessments, and status reports.
  • Prepare and submit stage-gate documentation for approval.
  • Support portfolio reviews and business reviews with data, insights, and updates.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management tools, processes, and templates.
  • Help drive adoption of global innovation standards, methodologies, and processes across the organization.
  • Provide clear visibility, analysis, and reporting of project progress to senior leadership.


Skills/Qualifications of Project Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or related field; PMP certification a plus
  • 5+ years of project management experience, ideally in product development, consumer goods, or manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects with competing deadlines.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience tracking and managing project budgets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with stage-gate or similar innovation processes preferred.
  • Proficiency with project management software/tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent).
