Summary

Bering Global Solutions, a company within the BSNC family, is currently seeking a qualified Armed Guard for Chesapeake Bay Detachment (CBD). This role involves a combined Fixed and Roving Mobile Post. According to the Service Contract Act Directory of Occupations, this post shall be manned by a Guard (Occupational Base) and classified at the Guard II level.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• All Security Guards assigned to the Chesapeake Bay Detachment (CBD) will comply with the contract, Post Orders, and Standard Operating Procedures. Personnel must be proficient with weapons, pedestrian, and vehicle access procedures for personnel and visitors. Guards must be courteous, polite, patient, helpful, and considerate during their duty. The attitude and tact displayed will reflect professionalism, fostering cooperation and understanding. All personnel are required to have a valid driver’s license for vehicle and foot patrols. Respond to alarms/incidents within their area or as dispatched.

Qualifications - Experience, Education, and Certification

• Active Secret Security Clearance
• Successful completion of a pre-employment physical exam and annual exams, evaluating physical exertion ability, vision, color recognition, and hearing.
• Pass the semi-annual physical fitness test.
• Psychological testing to assess occupational suitability.
• High school diploma or equivalent; or pass an exam measuring basic skills. Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently. Clear communication over radio and telephone. Ability to read and understand regulations, orders, and instructions. Ability to produce complete records and reports.
• No felony convictions or convictions affecting reliability, including Lautenberg Act violations.
• Must be 21+ years old or an honorably discharged veteran. Must be 21+ to be armed.
• U.S. citizen with a valid driver’s license.
• No recent illegal drug use or sale. No disqualifying mental health diagnoses unless controlled and managed with medication.
• Maintain a fitness level appropriate for job duties.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

• Ability to follow procedures, enforce rules, and policies.
• Attention to detail, good communication, report writing.
• Customer service skills.
• Ability to analyze situations, escalate issues, and work independently or in small teams.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, or drive as needed.
• Sensory abilities to respond to alarms and detect emergencies.
• Proficiency with computers, security systems, and communication tools.
• Reliable work ethic and transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Security clearance card
• Gun/OC/Baton permits
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification

Physical Requirements

• Good physical condition, able to protect self and others, handle stress, and physical exertion during suspect apprehension, including running, jumping, climbing, and physical contact.
• Correctable visual acuity to 20/30 in one eye and 20/40 in the other, with color recognition.
• No significant hearing loss; ability to wear hearing aids if approved.
• No medical conditions like uncontrolled epilepsy or diabetes that could impair duty performance.

Additional Factors

• Must pass background checks, drug screening, and physical agility tests if applicable.
• Must obtain or possess necessary security or weapons permits.
• Must be able to access military installations if required.
