Why an Sr Graphic Designer / Art Director is Needed:

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Graphic Designer / Art Director to elevate Needed’s visual storytelling across digital and physical touchpoints. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in executing and extending our creative vision: translating brand strategy and UX direction into compelling design across our website, packaging, social media, campaigns, and more.

You’ll report directly to our Creative Director and work closely with marketing and product teams, and a trusted bench of freelancers to bring high-impact ideas to life. This is a hands-on, executional role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in graphic design or art direction, preferably in a high-growth consumer brand or CPG-focused agency setting.

  • Extensive experience crafting designs for web, mobile, email, and social media. Experience with retail packaging is a plus.

  • Art directed high-impact photo and video content optimized for eCommerce conversion across web, email, and paid channels.

  • Experience in rapid web design for e-commerce, with a strong ability to craft intuitive, user-centered experiences and product stories that drive engagement and conversion within a realistic scope.

  • Ability to distill complex concepts into clear, engaging, and inclusive creative solutions.

  • Experience managing freelance and/or agency talent to improve efficiency or fill in skill gaps.

  • Proven ability to navigate and align diverse stakeholder expectations, ensuring collaboration and strategic consensus across teams.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and emerging creative technologies.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Concept and design compelling creative and campaigns for both on-site and off-site marketing channels.

  • Own the look and feel of our social media channels through ongoing design leadership and guiding content creation with an external agency.

  • Build and extend UX frameworks provided by the Creative Director, designing responsive web views and production-ready assets for implementation.

  • Design and produce physical packaging in collaboration with our product and ops teams.

  • Support retail, tradeshow, and experiential brand needs through environmental graphics and signage.

  • Partner with the Creative Director on photo and content production—helping to plan, art direct, and bring branded content to life.

  • Balance speed and strategy in asset creation—knowing when to move quickly in-house and when to outsource.

  • Work cross-functionally to ensure cohesive storytelling and brand consistency.

  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies, including AI, to responsibly enhance creative processes.

  • Learn from performance data to inform design decisions, creating a feedback loop for continuous optimization.

  • A current, diverse portfolio showcasing real, produced creative work that demonstrates innovation, cultural acumen, and a track record of building top consumer brands across touch points and media. Including: product launches, sales campaigns, brand campaigns, social content, design systems, photo/video direction, collateral, experiential, and packaging.

 

Other details:

  • The company is headquartered in Los Angeles; this a remote role, but travel to Los Angeles and the Bay Area may be required from time to time
