Job Description Quality Control (QC) Inspector Position Overview We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Quality Control (QC) Inspector to join our high-precision CNC machine shop. The QC Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that all machined components meet strict dimensional, cosmetic, and functional requirements as specified by engineering drawings, GD standards, and customer specifications. The role requires hands-on use of advanced inspection equipment, detailed documentation, and close collaboration with machinists, programmers, and management to maintain the highest standards of quality and on-time delivery. Key Responsibilities bullet Perform first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections on machined parts. bullet Verify conformance to drawings, models, and GD requirements with tight tolerances. bullet Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and use precision inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, indicators, etc.). bullet Document inspection results, maintain records, and generate reports in accordance with ISO/AS standards (as applicable). bullet Work with machinists and programmers to provide feedback and resolve quality issues quickly. bullet Review and maintain control of inspection plans, quality documentation, and revision tracking. bullet Support root cause analysis and
corrective/preventive
action processes (SCARs, NCRs, etc.). bullet Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality processes and reduce scrap/rework. bullet Ensure compliance with customer, industry, and internal quality requirements. Qualifications bullet 3+ years of quality inspection experience in a precision CNC machine shop (aerospace, defense, or medical device industry experience preferred). bullet Strong understanding of GD and ability to interpret complex engineering drawings. bullet Hands-on experience with CMM
operation/programming. bullet Skilled in the use of precision hand inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, thread gauges, surface plates, etc.). bullet Familiarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality standards. bullet Strong documentation and communication skills. bullet Proficiency with ERP systems (Fulcrum or similar) is a plus. bullet High attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
