Mold Attendant – Day Shift (Contract-to-Hire) Sumter, SC | Medical Device Manufacturing Employment Type: Long-Term Contract / Contract-to-Hire Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (3-2-2-3 schedule, A-shift) Pay Rate: $15.00/hour + $0.40 shift differential Position Overview A leading medical device manufacturer in Sumter, SC is seeking a Mold Attendant for a long-term contract/contract-to-hire opportunity. The Mold Attendant is responsible for operating injection molding presses, ensuring product quality, and performing minor maintenance activities to keep production on schedule. This role requires strong attention to detail, teamwork, and adherence to GMP and quality standards in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Operate injection molding presses and auxiliary equipment to meet production goals Inspect molded components to ensure compliance with specifications Perform minor maintenance activities on assigned presses Collaborate with team members to keep equipment running during breaks or call-outs Place surplus molded components into inventory Maintain knowledge of products, raw materials, and quality specifications Keep machinery, workstations, and floors clean and GMP-compliant Perform product inspections and make independent quality decisions Follow controlled documents, work instructions, and preventative maintenance procedures Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED required Experience: 1–2 years in a manufacturing environment preferred (injection molding experience with both electric & hydraulic presses highly preferred) Vision Requirement: Must have 20/30 vision (with or without corrective lenses) and/or successfully pass a color vision exam (eye exam required prior to hire) Ability to work effectively in a team with limited supervision Strong attention to detail with ability to meet quality standards
