Job Description Salary: Starting at $65,000 Position Overview The Trade Business Development -Architect Representative is charged with developing long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with architects, designers, and their industry organizations to generate a preference for Pellas product portfolio leading to a measured increase in project leads, project specifications favorable to Pella, and high-volume sales growth. This person will manage business relationships across our segmentation primarily through customer-facing activities with a particular focus on the architectural design community. Direct experience in the field of Architecture and/or extensive architectural sales experience is preferred. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills as well as a strong building design aptitude are required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate, promote and advance the visibility and presence of the entire Pella product & service offerings within the architecture and design community. Actively pursues new architect and designer account prospects as well as project leads on a weekly basis. Continually develop in-depth knowledge of architectural and design concepts, construction practices and building codes. Effectively present Pella product demonstrations, and continuing education courses. Accurately read, interpret, take-off, blueprints. Possess a working knowledge of advanced window and door installation systems and the ability to communicate through drawing and specification writing. Has a working knowledge of building science concepts common to the architecture and design community. Active involvement in AIA, CSI, HBA and other relevant industry associations and events. Utilize assigned lead services and CRM to collect and manage account and project information (leads, activities, project information, etc.). Coordinate project quoting and project management within the Pella systems. Utilize CRM to manage the entire sales process (accounts, projects, contacts, activities) Represent Pella in a professional, competent manner, in keeping with the high ethical and cultural standards of the organization. Collaborate with all team members in support of Pellas corporate culture. Identify and develop a focused target list of architect and designer prospects to accelerate Trade & Commercial sales teams quoting activity.
Key Metrics: Plans specified with Pella products Specd job sales dollars Present AIA Continuing Education Credit courses to architects.
Skills / Knowledge / Experience
Direct experience in the field of architecture and/ or extensive architectural sales experience is required (minimum 5 years of experience or more). Proficiency with Microsoft Office and smart devices, and ability to learn internal software programs and applications. AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup experience preferred.
Physical Demands
The majority of travel will be local. Driving to and from customer / contractor locations, showrooms, and work sites (70% of time) Carrying samples up to 50 pounds, climbing, walking, sitting and regularly required to drive an automobile.
Working Conditions and Environment
Normal office environment. Saturday showroom work may be required.
