Full Time / 40 Hrs Wk/ Flex Schedule to meet program needs MISSION STATEMENT: The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. QUALIFICATIONS: Salvation Army soldier in good standing Maintain Christian integrity at work and during personal time High School Diploma required Some college coursework strongly preferred Experience with Salvation Army programming and terminology Must be familiar with Salvation Army policies and procedures Ability to pass a criminal background check Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to maintain strict confidentiality Must have a valid Driver’s License and drive the small bus and 12 passenger van Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products Maintain and Protect the Mission certifications RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Corps Officer as needed with Corps programs including, but not limited to: Sunday School Preach Fellowship events Adult Programing Bible Study Youth Character Building Programs Recruit and Train Corp members for special events and volunteer opportunities Corps reviews Lead youth programs as needed Assist in the family services department, as needed Coordinate van routes for pickups for programs Assis with Thanksgiving food distribution Coordinate Christmas Kettle Program Assist with Christmas Assistance Program Help coordinate Fundraisers for Corps events Work with Corps Officer on neighborhood outreach Assist in maintaining the fiscal integrity of the Corps including complete and proper record keeping and security. Maintain the highest possible stewardship of funds, property, and resources. Act as a Salvation Army representative to all community functions as assigned by the Corps Officer(s). Provide and maintain statistical data and prepare and submit reports as required. Familiarization with Corps budget, finance & accounting procedures, and business administration. Other duties as they relate to the position for Corps Program Assistant PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
