The Fellowship

(Chicago/Hybrid) The position of Graphic Designer is to create a wide variety of visually compelling designs that communicate the Fellowship’s brand message, engage with our donors and partners and support our mission. The graphic designer will be responsible for creating designs that are implemented cross print, social and digital platforms. This role blends creativity with technical skills to produce assets for multiple needs within the organization. This position reports directly to the Graphic Design Manager and is based in our Chicago headquarters. We are seeking an individual with an Associate’s degree in Graphic Design or related field or equivalent experience. Individuals with a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field or equivalent experience is preferred. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in creating graphic design, in digital and print formats, from ideation through production. Experience working with a wide range of stakeholders. Previous experience in designing for the non-profit sector and using Android design software is preferred. Essential Job Responsibilities Include: Creative Project Execution and Content Creation Independently and collaboratively execute internal creative projects, encompassing the design and production of branded promotions and educational resources from concept to completion. This includes digital media such as websites, text, emails, social media, interactive materials, presentations, and internal reports, as well as print media including press-ready files for ads, brochures, exhibits and signage, invitations, cards, and premiums. Source, optimize, and create original logos, diagrams, infographics, illustrations, animations. Retouch and optimize photos and weigh in on photo shoots. Project Coordination Coordinate multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to deadlines. Template Design Create templates and sample designs for colleagues to use independently. Be a design resource for colleagues. Lead and champion design excellence and adherence to brand and copyright guidelines. Records Management and Digital Standards: Participate in recordkeeping: keep clean files and prepare them for sharing and for archives, consistently record hours, document photo usage, create reports. Develop, create, and manage standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency in operations. Stay up to date on digital media standards, software, international design considerations, and design trends. Technical & Individual Skills: Strong sense of visual storytelling, innovative, able to make complex ideas easy and attractive Ability to design for different audiences as well as for different channels/styles of content consumption Well versed in best practices of design for various media (digital, print, interactive, presentation, etc.), including composition, typography, color, and adherence to brand and copyright standards Observes and champions branding guidelines, and keeps files clean to enable file sharing Advanced proficiency in core Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) Experience executing every aspect of creation and production on digital and print materials, including working with color for print vs digital Some level of proficiency with AfterEffects Intermediate-level proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint Some understanding and experience with HTML and CSS Creative, innovative, able to make complex ideas easy and attractive. Communicate clearly (written and verbal) Excellent attention to detail, strong time management skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing deadlines Come and experience all that
