Non-Exempt (Hourly) SUMMARY As part of the Quality team, you will be responsible for supporting production by identifying opportunities and leading the investigation and solutions for quality-related supplier, production, manufacturing, and design-related issues. RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct sampling and testing of raw materials to verify conformity with specifications. Investigate product-related concerns and prepare comprehensive reports on investigation. Maintain and operate the onsite lab and equipment to ensure accurate testing and reporting. Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards. Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability. Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to drawing & specification requirements. Analyzes results to applicable acceptance criteria. Enter data into computer for graph & chart analysis. Selects products for tests at specified stages in the production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, tolerances, performance and mechanical characteristics. Interprets Manufacturing drawings, all other formatted drawings & sketches, diagrams, or formulas and confers with management, manufacturing or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards. Support Production Effectiveness by driving Continuous Improvement: Leading root cause analysis and resolving non-conformances will help identify and eliminate recurring issues, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. effectively use AIAG Core Tools (FMEA, APQP, MSA, and PPAP). Effective Corrective Actions: Initiating, approving, and monitoring corrective actions will ensure timely and effective resolution of audit findings, maintaining high standards of quality. Awareness of statistical techniques and Statistical Process Control techniques. Provide engineering support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniques. Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system. Conduct production audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determining corrective and preventive actions. REQUIRED SKILLS High School Diploma, GED, or formal vocational training Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in quality control in a manufacturing environment Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before employees and leadership of the organization. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision RECOMMENDED SKILLS Certification of quality control is a strong advantage (ISO 13485 / ISO 9001, etc.) Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies Green Belt Six Sigma Training or Certification WORK ENVIRONMENT Production Office working environment. Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and an increased noise level.
