Warehouse Laborer
A warehouse laborer is responsible for a range of physical tasks including receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping goods, often using warehouse equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks to move materials. Key responsibilities also include maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring a clean and safe working environment, and complying with safety regulations. Core Responsibilities Receiving and Unloading: Accept incoming shipments, unload trucks, and verify the contents against purchase orders for accuracy and damage. Stocking and Organization: Transport materials to designated storage areas, organize and maintain inventory, and restock shelves. Order Picking and Packing: Retrieve items from storage to fulfill orders, pack them securely, and prepare them for shipment. Shipping: Load completed orders onto trucks and ensure timely departure. Equipment Operation: Safely operate warehouse machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Inventory Management: Perform regular inventory counts, identify discrepancies or damaged goods, and maintain accurate inventory records. Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by sweeping, organizing workstations, and following all safety protocols. Key Skills Physical Stamina: The ability to lift and move heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs Attention to Detail: Crucial for accurate picking, packing, inventory counts, and identifying damaged or missing merchandise. Basic Equipment Operation: Training to safely and efficiently operate various warehouse machinery. Teamwork: Collaborating with other warehouse staff to meet daily productivity targets. Painting/Staining Trim for jobs as needed
