ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER

Job Description: The Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for leading and overseeing capital projects from conception to completion within food manufacturing and distribution environments. This includes managing all project phases, from scope definition and design to installation, commissioning, and vertical startup. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of food processing technology, a proven track record of managing multi-million dollar projects, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities: Lead and manage a portfolio of engineering projects, including new equipment installations, process optimizations, facility expansions, and infrastructure upgrades. Develop and manage project scope, budget, timelines, and resource allocation. Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related matters, working closely with internal departments like operations, quality assurance, maintenance, and supply chain, as well as external vendors, contractors, and regulatory agencies. Safety and Compliance - Ensure all projects adhere to strict food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, AIB, BRC), occupational health and safety regulations (e.g.,OSHA, DHA, NFPA), and environmental guidelines. Conduct risk assessments and implement preventative measures to maintain a safe and compliant work environment. Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and timelines. Utilize methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma to analyze existing processes, identify opportunities for efficiency gains, and implement solutions that reduce waste and improve productivity. Gather and analyze technical data, proactively identifying risks and implementing corrective or preventative actions. Support key documentation required for manufacturing campaigns. Provide technical expertise for process changes and deviation investigations, serving as the lead investigator when required. Deliver regular project status updates to management and stakeholders. Escalate and address resource constraints with leadership as needed. Facilitate post-production/project review meetings to capture lessons learned. Provide constructive feedback and coaching to team members to support professional development. Prepare and present materials for internal and external communications independently.

Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field. 2 to 4 years experience managing projects. Proven project management experience, preferably in operations or manufacturing environments. Strong leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Skilled in coordinating cross-functional teams and aligning resources to meet project goals. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to coordinate cross-functional project team. Ability to travel up to 50%.
