Distribution Center - UPS Runner/Picker (1st Shift)
POSITION SUMMARY:
The UPS Runner/Picker is responsible for accurately selecting, staging, and preparing customer orders for UPS and FedEx shipment. Ensures timely movement of packages to the shipping area, maintains accuracy in order fulfillment, and supports warehouse operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Pick and stage products according to order pick lists or system instructions. Verify product numbers, quantities, and packaging requirements for UPS shipments. Transport picked items from storage areas to the UPS shipping station. Assist in labeling, weighing, and preparing packages for UPS processing. Ensure all orders meet company accuracy and quality standards before shipment. Maintain organization of warehouse pick areas and shipping zones. Safely operate pallet jacks, forklift trucks, carts, or other material-handling equipment as needed. Communicate with the Shipping/Receiving team to resolve order discrepancies. Follow safety guidelines and report any hazards, damaged products, or equipment issues. Perform general warehouse tasks as assigned, including restocking and housekeeping.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous warehouse, or order-picking helpful but not required.
Ability to read and interpret pick lists, labels, and shipping documents.
Basic computer or hand-held scanner knowledge.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime as needed.
Forklift certification a plus (training may be provided).
WORKING CONDITIONS: Physical work in a warehouse and loading dock environment.
Exposure to varying temperatures depending on season.
Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) safely.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
