About the Role: The Department Manager will lead and oversee all operational activities within the designated department located in Huntersville, NC. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining high-quality standards, and meeting production targets while adhering to safety and compliance regulations. The manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimize processes, manage resources effectively, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. They will also be responsible for developing and mentoring team members to foster a productive and motivated workforce. Ultimately, this position aims to deliver consistent operational excellence that supports the company’s strategic goals and customer satisfaction. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Manufacturing Management, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role. Strong knowledge of production processes and quality control standards in manufacturing. Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities effectively. Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance requirements relevant to manufacturing operations. Preferred Qualifications: Experience specifically in postal or logistics operations within a manufacturing setting. Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification. Advanced proficiency with manufacturing software and data analysis tools. Demonstrated success in driving process improvements and cost reduction initiatives. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration across departments. Responsibilities: Manage daily operations of the department to ensure production goals and quality standards are met. Coordinate with supply chain, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to streamline processes and resolve operational issues promptly. Lead, train, and develop department staff to enhance skills, performance, and engagement. Implement and monitor compliance with safety protocols and company policies to maintain a safe working environment. Analyze performance metrics and prepare reports for senior management to inform decision-making and continuous improvement efforts. Skills: The required skills enable the manager to oversee complex manufacturing operations, ensuring that production targets and quality standards are consistently achieved. Leadership and team management skills are essential for motivating staff and fostering a collaborative work environment. Analytical skills are used daily to interpret performance data and identify opportunities for process optimization. Knowledge of safety and compliance ensures that all activities meet regulatory standards, minimizing risk. Preferred skills such as Lean or Six Sigma methodologies enhance the ability to implement continuous improvement projects, driving efficiency and reducing waste within the department.
