Part-Time Communications Coordinator

to join our team and help share the stories, impact, and mission of AJC across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate will be a creative storyteller, detail-oriented communicator, and skilled organizer who thrives in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Social Media & Digital Presence Manage content for AJC's social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube). Track social media analytics, increase engagement and followers, and provide monthly reporting. Develop and maintain a social media calendar. Engage in digital conversations across platforms to build awareness and community support. Take photos and create videos, reels, and other engaging content. Curate and organize photos and video content from programs, events, and community activities. Content Development & Storytelling Develop stories, videos, and testimonials showcasing the impact of AJC programs. Manage and coordinate the volunteers on the Storytelling Volunteer Team Create flyers, graphics, and promotional materials with consistent, on-brand messaging. Collaborate with leadership team on interviews and impact stories. Work with web designer to update website content and visuals. Draft press releases and provide content for external communications in partnership with leadership team related to scheduled events and programs. Support communication strategy for new programs, initiatives, impact report, and staff. Design invitations, signage, and other materials for events. Utilize AI tools by feeding in relevant content to optimize messaging and outreach. Newsletters & Publications Coordinate monthly content for publications and websites (For example;

News of Davidson, WSIC, etc...) . Prepare submissions for newsletters and other local publications. Curate content for AJC's quarterly newsletter in partnership with leadership team. Support writing for magazine features and articles (e.g.,

Lakeside Living ). On-Site Communication & Engagement Oversee seasonal updates to AJC bulletin boards with program info, stats, and stories on campus. Manage volunteers to keep bulletin boards engaging and up to date on AJC campus. Oversee volunteers and execution of the Hall of History permanent exhibit. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field (or equivalent work experience). 2+ years of communications, social media, or marketing experience preferred. Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills. Graphic design and video editing experience (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar). Experience with social media scheduling and analytics tools. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Comfortable working independently while collaborating with staff and volunteers. Commitment to AJC's mission and values. Schedule & Compensation Part-time (15-20 hours per week, flexible schedule with some evenings/weekends for events). Hybrid option (mix of on-site and remote work). Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience. No calls, emails, or visits please .
