Methods designs and implements custom machining setups, including machine tool selection, automation integration, and turnkey automation cells. The corporate campus in Sudbury, Mass., comprises a showroom/technical center, which contains automation, applications, and a full range of cutting-edge machines. Methods has more than 300 employees, seven technology centers, one high precision machining center, and has installed more than 45,000 machines throughout North America.

Job Summary:

The Parts Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the availability, accuracy, and timely delivery of machine tool parts to support customers, service teams, and internal operations. This role is responsible for managing parts inventory, processing orders, coordinating with vendors, and providing technical assistance to customers regarding machine tool components. The Parts Specialist works closely with Sales, Service, and Supply Chain teams to optimize parts availability, streamline order fulfillment, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Parts Management & Order Fulfillment Identify, source, and procure machine tool parts based on customer and internal needs. Process orders, quotes, RMAs and invoices accurately and efficiently. Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure optimal stock levels. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery and resolve shortages. Assist in managing returns, warranty claims, and replacement parts. Responsible for shipping parts and machinery. Receives and checks in all purchase orders and transfers. Customer Support & Technical Assistance Provide recommendations to customers regarding part selection and compatibility. Research and cross-reference part numbers to ensure proper fit and function. Respond to inquiries and escalate complex requests as needed. Maintain strong relationships with customers, service teams, and OEM partners. Create purchase orders for parts, tooling and shipping supplies. Inventory & Logistics Coordination Monitor inventory levels, conduct cycle counts, and reconcile discrepancies. Collaborate with Service Manager to ensure all parts are available for repair jobs. Process parts orders for the service department and confirm shipments and tracking information with Field Service Engineers. Identify opportunities to streamline parts ordering, inventory control, and fulfillment processes. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. Required Qualifications & Skills: High school diploma required, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred. 3+ years of experience in parts management within the machine tool or industrial sector. Strong understanding of machine tool components and parts schematics. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently. Supervisory Responsibilities: none Travel Requirements: none Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
