The College of Education (COE) at Gardner-Webb University seeks a strong candidate for a tenure-track faculty position teaching curriculum and instruction in E xceptional Children's/special education.

The 9-month tenure-track position will start on

August 1, 2025 .

Required Qualifications · An earned doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialty in Special

Education/Exceptional

Children/ or a related field and a strong record of scholarly research and/or K-12 leadership experience · Demonstrate knowledge of school district-level special education, exceptional child, reading, and literacy practices · Served in public K-12 setting

Preferred Qualifications · A

research/scholarship

portfolio in K-12 curriculum and instruction, reading, literacy, academically gifted or related K-12 experience · Science of Reading Certification or eligibility for the Science of Reading Certificate · Experience with online and hybrid teaching and course development · Experience with university teaching · Served in public K-12 leadership roles as a school or central office personnel

Teaching, Research, and Service Assignments

· Teach 12 credit hours per semester · Teach exceptional children’s courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels · Provide service to the College of Education, University, community, and academic profession · Supervise student teachers · Conduct research and scholarly activities to enhance the COE academic climate Other Information · Review of complete employment applications begins as soon as they are received.
