Job Overview:
We seek a detail-oriented Assembly Operator for the 2nd shift in Newburyport, MA. This full-time, onsite position involves precision work in a cleanroom environment, supporting microelectronics assembly and inspection. The ideal candidate will have experience operating assembly equipment and handling delicate semiconductor components while adhering to industry standards and quality protocols. This is a 12-month contract role offering a competitive hourly wage plus a 10% shift differential.
Schedule and Shift:
Monday - Friday: Full-Time Onsite 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Operate manual, semi-automatic, and automatic microelectronics assembly equipment. Perform die/wafer processing and chip-and-wire assembly tasks. Conduct detailed visual inspections using high- and low-power microscopes. Follow strict standards such as the Military and JEDEC for product quality. Utilize hand tools to handle and process delicate electronic components. Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready workstations in a controlled environment. Record production data and move products using computer-based systems. Assist in training new operators on basic operations and procedures.
Qualification:
High school diploma or GED. Basic computer skills and data entry capability. Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to follow written instructions and standard operating procedures precisely. Previous experience working in a semiconductor cleanroom or assembly environment. Experience using microscopes and fine motor tools in a manufacturing setting.
