Location: New Haven, CT (Non-Profit Organization) My client, a respected non-profit based in New Haven, CT, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented AR/AP specialist to join their team on a 3 to 4-month contract. This role plays a key part in supporting the organization's financial operations. Key Responsibilities: Accounts Payable (AP): Accurately process and code vendor invoices in a timely manner. Review and reconcile invoices and receipts for accuracy. Prepare and execute weekly check runs. Reconcile vendor statements and address any vendor inquiries. Maintain organized AP documentation and files. Assist with preparation of annual 1099 forms. Support month-end closing activities related to accounts payable. Accounts Receivable (AR): Generate and send customer invoices when applicable. Record incoming payments and post to customer accounts. Monitor overdue customer accounts and conduct follow-ups as needed. Assist with monthly aging report analysis. General Financial Support: Record bi-weekly payroll transactions using QuickBooks. Assist with account reconciliations. Support both internal and external audit requests. Maintain precise and organized financial records. Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve any invoice or payment discrepancies. Perform additional administrative tasks as needed. Qualifications: Associate's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. 1-2 years of experience in accounts payable/accounts receivable or general accounting roles. Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial workflows. Proficient with Microsoft Excel and comfortable using accounting software such as QuickBooks, RAMP, or DocuSign. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Effective communicator with good problem-solving abilities. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines reliably. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional integrity.
